I just found damage. What should I do first?

Call us before you do anything else. Minutes matter when water, mold, or fire damage is involved. Our IICRC-certified technicians will respond within 60 minutes, assess the full extent of your loss using thermal imaging and moisture meters, and advise you on exactly what to do next. We’ll also help you decide whether the damage is worth filing an insurance claim before you contact your carrier, which can save you from a claim that costs you more in premium increases than it pays out.

Does my insurance policy cover water and mold damage?

Most policies do, but the limits and conditions vary. What makes All Things Restored different is our experience in managing claims across multiple coverage types at the same time. Water damage and mold damage often involve separate coverage buckets. How you document and submit the claim determines whether you receive your full benefit. Our team has processed thousands of claims and will guide you through every step so you don’t accidentally leave money on the table.

Can I clean mold myself with bleach?

We strongly recommend against it. Bleach is approximately 96% water, and applying it to porous surfaces like drywall or framing lumber adds moisture right where mold wants to grow. While bleach kills surface mold on contact, it doesn’t get rid of the moisture source. The mold almost always returns. Proper remediation requires containing the area, removing affected materials, treating surfaces with EPA-registered antimicrobials, and verifying clean air quality through post-remediation testing. Call us for a free consultation before attempting any mold cleanup.

How quickly can you respond to an emergency?

We guarantee a 15-minute response to your call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our crews are on standby and can usually be on-site within 60 minutes. We don’t outsource our emergency response and we don’t use call centers. When you call All Things Restored, you reach someone who can dispatch a crew immediately.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes! This is one of our top priorities. We have worked with every major insurance carrier and understand how adjusters evaluate and approve claims. We prepare and submit your documentation in the format insurers require, communicate directly with your adjuster, and advocate for the full value of your loss. We want you made whole, and we have the expertise to help make that happen.

What is the difference between mitigation and remediation?

Mitigation refers to emergency actions taken to stop ongoing damage, such as extracting water, setting drying equipment, or boarding up openings after a fire. Remediation refers to the more thorough cleanup and treatment process, such as removing mold-damaged materials or cleaning smoke residue from surfaces. All Things Restored handles both, along with full reconstruction, so you never have to coordinate between multiple companies.

How long does water damage restoration take?

The structural drying process typically takes three to five days, depending on the extent of the damage and the materials involved. However, full restoration, including repairs and reconstruction, can take significantly longer based on scope. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at the time of our initial assessment and keep you informed throughout the process.

My home smells like smoke even though the fire was small. Is that normal?

Yes. Smoke travels much further than most people realize. It penetrates wall cavities, insulation, HVAC ductwork, and soft contents throughout your home. Surface cleaning alone won’t eliminate it. Our IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technicians use specialized methods, including thermal fogging and ozone treatment, to neutralize smoke odor molecules at their source rather than simply masking them.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. All Things Restored holds a Florida Professional Mold Remediator License (MRSR1959), IICRC Master Water Restorer certification (#45750), EPA Lead Renovator credentials, and OSHA certifications. We are fully insured and operate in full compliance with Florida state regulations.

Do you handle commercial properties in addition to residential?

Absolutely. We serve residential, commercial, industrial, and medical facilities throughout Northeast Florida. Our team is experienced in responding to large-scale commercial losses with the speed and discretion those environments require.

Still Have Questions?

Call us anytime. Our team is available 24/7 and is always happy to talk through your situation, even if you aren’t sure yet whether you need our services.
